Sheffield Refractories Limited Jonlite insulating castables and gunmixes are light weight refractory concretes. Insulation refractory materials are mainly used as backing linings behind dense working linings, though they can also be the working lining in some applications. Insulations reduce the amount of energy required and lowers the temperature of the shell. Insulation can be installed by gunning even if the working lining is to be cast saving time on shuttering etc. Mixers, gunning equipment, supervisors and installers are available for hire to install these products.
